Ingredients

Serves 4

900g floury potatoes

60ml Oil

Salt

How to achieve the perfect roast potato, our simple guide:

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200c.
  2. Peel and cut the potatoes into 5cm chunks.
  3. Boil these for 5 to 10 mins – check if the potatoes are cooked through, with a small knife.
  4. Put the oil in a roasting tray and into the oven for 5 mins.
  5. Drain and ruffle the potatoes in a colander and sprinkle with salt.
  6. Roast for 50 to 60 mins – turn and bast every 15 mins.
